Betty Lou Hanney, age 88 of Nashville, Arkansas died on Sunday, December 25, 2022 in Searcy, Arkansas. She was born on July 12, 1934 in Nashville to the late Leonard Claude Worley and Maudie Mae Kemp Worley.
Betty loved to quilt, crochet and collect salt and pepper shakers. She was happiest when she was cooking meals for her closet friends and family at either her home or deer camp.
She was a Christian who never shied away from telling others about where she would spend eternity.
She was preceded in death by her husband, HC Hanney; her siblings, Cherrie Mae, Sara Louise, John Henry, William Lee and Claude Jr.; two sons, James and Freddie Hanney; and a grandson, Wayne Hanney.
Survivors include two daughter in laws, Debbie and Teresa Hanney; 5 grandchildren, Greg Hanney and wife Angela, Michael Hanney and wife Christie, Michael Lynn Cox and wife Kaleena, Rachael Clairday and husband Mark, and Tasha Moore and husband James. She is also survived by her 13 great grandchildren, 2 great-great granddaughters, and host of nieces, nephews and great friends.
The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, at the Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville, Arkansas.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30 in the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville. Interment will follow in Avery’s Chapel Cemetery, Under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
