Michael Johnson

Michael Wayne Johnson, age 73, died on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in Texarkana, Texas.  He was born December 15, 1948 in Murfreesboro, Arkansas the son of the late Juanita Williams Johnson and George Wayne Johnson.

Mike was a member of the Murfreesboro Church of Christ. He served a number of years in the National Guard serving as assigned. He knew most people in town as he owned and operated Napa Auto Parts in Murfreesboro. Mike was a respectful man who got along with everyone.  He was a dedicated caregiver to his wife, Peggy, and kind to all of his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Wayne Johnson; his mother, Juanita Williams Johnson; one daughter through marriage, Kimberly Ann Valentine; father-in-law, Samuel Bernard Woods; mother-in-law, Mary Jo Woods; and one sister-in-law, Barbara Sue MacIntosh.

He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Peggy Jean Johnson, and numerous family members through marriage including a daughter, Tracy Lynn Lehmkuhler and husband, Gary; one grandson, James Lehmkuhler; one granddaughter, Marli Santos; sister-in-law, Teri Jo Fowler and husband Dennis; two special nieces who helped care for him during his illness, Courtney Woods Stinson and Carson Woods Hughes; five great nieces and nephews; and many other family members.

A grave-side service will be officiated by Tommy Mounts at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Biggs Chapel in Nathan, Arkansas. Viewing will be immediately preceding the service. Service and burial is under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home.
