Joel Shaw

Joel Dewayne Shaw, 71, of New Hope, AR, died Monday, March 14, 2011, at his home. He was born February 23, 1940, in New Hope, AR, the son of the late Willie and Eunice Turner Shaw. He was a member of Mt. Joy Freewill Baptist Church in Daisy. Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by his wife, Almeta Shaw and one sister Mary Lou Yeargen. He is survived by two daughters, Michala Young and husband, Kenneth, of New Hope, AR and Theresa Cook and husband, Jim, of Kirby, AR; three brothers, Jerry Shaw of Lockesburg, AR, Charles Shaw of New Hope, AR and Elton Budd Shaw of New Hope, AR; two grandchildren, Karson Young and Nicholas Cook; a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 17, at Mt. Joy Baptist Church, with Bro. Raymond Dees officiating, burial in Bissell Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
