Elwin Cooper Tilley

Elwin “Cooper” Tilley, age 99, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022 in La Porte, Texas. Elwin was born in Delight, Arkansas on July 4th, 1923 to Quincy B. and Belle Cooper.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Tom Tilley, her daughter Eva Yates, her son-in-law Wilburn Yates, her great grandson Skylar Nollman.

Survivors include her son Tommy Tilley (Cindy), her daughter Debbie Cox (Roger), seven grandchildren, Denise Guhlin (Frank), Karen Clines (Randy), Bryan Barron (Michelle), Shawnya Perry (Justin), Lori Tilley, Jeremy Mitchell, Nicolas Cox (Angelica), 4 step grandchildren Roger Cox, Jr., Angela Crawford (Eric), Joey Cox (Nicky), Sabrina Cox, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, and 5 step great-grandchildren.

Elwin worked at Arkansas Power and Light. The family moved to Pasadena, Texas when her husband got a transfer on job location. Elwin worked at various daycares including Ms. Frances, Little Texans and little Angels before retiring. She loved her gardening, planting, and mowing. She loved talking with her family and friends. She was the light of our lives and will be forever missed.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022 at the Delight Church of Christ with Wallace Alexander and Brent Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in Delight Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
