Betty Ann (Copeland) Johnson

Betty Ann Johnson, age 81 of Ben Lomond, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 in Texarkana, Texas. She was born on December 24, 1941 to the late Ben and Icy Myers Copeland in Highland.

Mrs. Johnson enjoyed being a member of the First Baptist Church of Hicks and loved her church family. She graduated Murfreesboro High School in 1959. She loved cooking for her family and prepared three meals a day. For years, she looked forward to tending to the cattle she and Jack owned. She enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dewey Jack “Jackie” Johnson, her great-grandson, Tripp Samuel Johnson, and seven siblings Bennie Leo Copeland, Billy Leon Copeland, Archie Lynn Copeland, Myrtle Lucille Copeland, Ethel Lorie Copeland, Ila Mae Copeland and Elizabeth Ivon Copeland.

Survivors include loving husband of sixty-three years, Jack Johnson; her son, Tony Johnson and wife Lynn of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; her sister Norma Jean Schroeder of Kenner, LA; two grandchildren Tony “T.J.” Johnson and wife Tara of Northport, AL, Darley Norris and husband Eric of Tuscaloosa, AL; two great-grandchildren Trace Johnson and Levi Norris; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 18, 2023 in the Latimer Funeral Chapel in Nashville. Interment will follow in Ben Lomond Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Nashville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ben Lomond Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 25, Ben Lomond, AR, 71823 or the First Baptist Church of Hicks, 507 Little River 29, Ashdown, AR 71822. Also, the family requests visitors for Mr. Jack Johnson in the coming weeks and months at Little River Nursing and Rehab, 162 Highway 32, Ashdown, AR 71822.
